The nursery is off a one lane road and you might feel you’re in a nature preserve, because that is what it is.
Situated north of Baltimore, in beautiful rural Harford County, Kollar Nursery provides an extensive array of native plants–trees, shrubs, wildflowers, ferns and vines.
I arrived earlier this spring (2023) and wandered around for several minutes before Stan Kollar came out to meet me.
It is a small family run operation. They propagate most of what they sell.
During my hour there, as the only customer, I was able to see the vast array of natives, both those for sale and specimens they have on the property as mature examples.
While Kollar will handle mail order in the spring, a visit there is advisable to benefit from their guidance and expertise and to choose individual stock. They offer plants in different sizes and the website is clear concerning what is available and what is not.
Since it is a bit of a drive, I suggest you email or call ahead.
